Infants
Our teachers follow each child’s unique individual schedule. Children are moved frequently to explore and play with items in the room which incorporate fine and gross motor development. We will also work with your child to reach developmental skills such as tummy time, sitting up, crawling and walking. You will receive a daily sheet of your child’s feeding, sleeping, diapering, and learning activities every day, so you can be confident that your baby will experience a nurturing environment.
Toddlers
The toddlers have story and circle time, music, art, math and sensory activities to keep the active toddlers busy. They work on small and large motor skills for muscle development. They also encourage the use of baby sign language in addition to other language development activities.
Two Year Olds
The children work on becoming more independent. They start potty training, washing their own hands, and cleaning up their toys. They sit as a group and learn the basic calendar components. They are introduced to a more structures playtime through centers. Areas they explore are art, music, language activities, story time, puzzles, small manipulatives, dramatic play, science/sensory and outdoor play. This all provides an environment where your child can grow and learn.
Three Years and Up
The structured teaching portion of the day occurs between 8:00 am and 11:30 am. During this time various activities are planned to encourage the child’s growth and development cognitively, physically, socially and emotionally. They work on number and upper/lower case letter recognition. Math and language skills are integrated during calendar time in addition to planned age appropriate activities. During center time the children choose to play in a block area, library, listening station, small manipulative table, dramatic play, art center, writing center, science center and math center. Social skills are practiced through sharing and problem solving. They practice self-help skills such as personal hygiene, independent dressing and mealtime responsibilities. Teachers encourage caring and sharing attitudes throughout the day.
